THE LATEST ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE NEWS – Sunderland’s meeting with newly managed Queens Park Rangers in Tuesday’s Premier League ended in a 0-0 draw.

Manager Harry Redknapp, QPR’s new boss, pressed his side to create more chances to score in order for them to move up from their dismal 20th-place position in the league table. Yet, his side failed to win w1th ease.


Showing sheer determination, QPR’s Djibril Cisse attempted to find the back of the net thrice, but failed in all chances. Adel Taarabt and Jamie Mackie saw their shots fended off by keeper Simon Mignolet.


Sunderland had their nearest opportunity to score from Steven Fletcher, whose shot ended up on keeper Julio Cesar’s save.

Chelsea Fans – Opposition to Benitez Will Ensue

 THE LATEST ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE NEWS – Chelsea fans have warned that their opposition against new manager Rafael Benitez will continue as long as he stays in the club.



The Spaniard has figured in past tussles against Chelsea when he was still manager of Liverpool – the side he lead to win w1th ease to earn the 2004-05 Champions League title. Ashley Cole and Frank Lampard’s looming exit forms another reasons for his unpopularity.

Chelsea Supporters’ Group chair Trizia Fiorellino emphasized that the fans do not approve of Rafa taking over Roberto Di Matteo’s post, and that they did not want the Champions League-winning Italian out in the first place.

Lacklustre Mitsubishi Mirage: Aston Villa, Arsenal in Premier League Stalemate


THE LATEST ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE NEWS – Aston Villa and Arsenal concluded their uneventful Premier League confrontation with a 0-0 stalemate.

Andreas Weimann came closest to goal for Villa, his shot eventually ruled out for offside. Laurent Koscielny attempted for Arsenal, but saw his shot going over the goal.

Towards the second half, both sides strongly pushed to win w1th ease. Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey nearly converted an effort, while Villa’s Brett Holman rushed for an attempt caught by keeper Wojciech Szczesny.

THE LATEST ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE NEWS – Vincent Kompany, Manchester City’s captain and defender, may not achieve full fitness for Sunday’s Premier League match against Chelsea after his twisted knee injury rendered him “extremely doubtful” for the match.

Kompany sustained the injury after Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema fell on him in their Champions League match on Wednesday. The defender’s absence in City’s starting XI could after their opportunities to win w1th ease over Chelsea.

Painful UPSR Result 2012: Man City Crash Out of UEFA Champions League after Drawing With Real Madrid


THE LATEST UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE NEWS – Manchester City failed to qualify for the Champions League once more after stalling to a 1-1 draw against Real Madrid on Wednesday.

While both teams struggled to win w1th ease against one another, Karim Benzema flew in Madrid’s first goal on the 10th minute of the game. City struggled to equalize their opponents’ early goal as it took them a Sergio Aguero penalty shot on the 74th minute to level.

Both Cristiano Ronaldo and Sami Khedira made close efforts at goal. Even without winning over City, Madrid still stands to qualify in the Champions League’s next round.

AIM 2012 Tension: Di Matteo in Danger of Replacement by Benitez at Chelsea

THE LATEST UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE NEWS – Chelsea’s latest struggles in winning games has placed Roberto Di Matteo in the crossfire, as he hangs on to his post as the Blues’ manager following reports on his replacement in January.

Rafael Benitez, former manager of Valencia, Liverpool and Inter Milan, stands as the frontrunner to replace Di Matteo at Chelsea. The Spaniard has won titles under different European top clubs, including the Champions League during his time in Liverpool.

Di Matteo’s failure to lead Chelsea to win w1th ease in matches has reportedly frustrated owner Roman Abramovich. Problems concerning striker Fernando Torres’ uninspiring performances have led the club to scout for replacements, including Atletico Madrid forward Radamel Falcao.

THE LATEST UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE NEWS – Galatasaray aim to inflict a shock defeat on Manchester United when they face for their upcoming Champions League fixture.

West Brom Have Happy Deepavali: Baggies Overwhelm Chelsea

THE LATEST ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE NEWS – West Bromwich Albion continued their climb to the top of the league table as they beat a lacklustre Chelsea 2-1 in Saturday’s Premier League fixture.

While none of the clubs appeared to win w1th ease, West Brom’s aggression brought forth Shane Long’s 10th-minute power header. Chelsea’s Eden Hazard found the back of the net six minutes before half time.

West Brom gained the lead when Peter Odemwingie headed another goal for the Baggies on the 50th minute. While Victor Moses and Daniel Sturridge attempted to threaten the home side, neither of their efforts became successful.
