THE LATEST UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE NEWS – Manchester United have qualified for the Champions League this season, but ended their group stage run with a disappointing home loss to CFR Cluj-Napoca 0-1.

                                                    
United wished to leave a footpr1nt with another home win on Wednesday, but the Red Devils failed to turn around a 25-yard effort from Luis Alberto. The match left a worrying precedent for manager Sir Alex Ferguson in time for Sunday’s Manchester derby against Manchester City.

Just Like Failing to Win Suzuki Cup 2012: Man City Loss to Dortmund Sends Them Out Of Europe


THE LATEST UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE NEWS – Premier League champions Manchester City exits the Champions League without clinching a Europa League slot following their defeat to Borussia Dortmund 1-0.


None of Roberto Mancini’s men was able to score against Dortmund, which needed a strike from Julian Schlieber in order to retain the top spot in the group stage. City were not able to leave a footpr1nt in the competition, as they exit without a win in six games.

City’s disappointing record of three points in the table is a scanty reflection of their expensive squad. They became the first English side in the competition that failed to record a single game in the group stage match.

Painful UPSR Result 2012: Man City Crash Out of UEFA Champions League after Drawing With Real Madrid


THE LATEST UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE NEWS – Manchester City failed to qualify for the Champions League once more after stalling to a 1-1 draw against Real Madrid on Wednesday.

While both teams struggled to win w1th ease against one another, Karim Benzema flew in Madrid’s first goal on the 10th minute of the game. City struggled to equalize their opponents’ early goal as it took them a Sergio Aguero penalty shot on the 74th minute to level.

Both Cristiano Ronaldo and Sami Khedira made close efforts at goal. Even without winning over City, Madrid still stands to qualify in the Champions League’s next round.

Eyeing McDonalds Victory: Galatasaray Target UEFA Champions League Win Over Man Utd

THE LATEST UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE NEWS – Galatasaray aim to inflict a shock defeat on Manchester United when they face for their upcoming Champions League fixture.

Midfielder Nordin Amrabat said that his side is highly inspired by Norwich City’s win over United on Saturday’s Premier League, although they are not expecting to win w1th ease despite the absence of Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie, among others.

Apart from Rooney and van Persie, several key players will sit out of United’s Galatasaray match. The likes of Rio Ferdinand, Patrice Evra, Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs will leave slots open for players who have not played in Europe yet.

Celtic Shock Barcelona in UEFA Champions League Home Win

THE LATEST UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE NEWS – Scottish Premier League champions Celtic gained a surprise 2-1 home win over giants Barcelona in their Champions League match on Wednesday. Two goals brought the hosts to triumph against a Barça squad that failed to score until Lionel Messi’s 90th-minute effort.


Celtic looked poised to win with ease against a jaded Barcelona side. Victor Wanyama fired a header past namesake keeper Victor Valdes. The Spanish side sought to equalize but failed to create chances.

Tony Watt, coming in as a substitute, scored Celtic’s second goal seven minutes before time. Messi’s last-minute goal proved inadequate to lift the Catalans.

Arsenal and Schalke Level at UEFA Champions League

THE LATEST UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE NEWS – Arsenal’s efforts for revenge against Schalke 04 in the Champions League failed as their match ended in a 2-2 away draw.


Theo Walcott was Arsenal’s trailblazer as he recorded his first Champions League appearance this season with a first-half opener for The Gunners. Olivier Giroud followed suit by rocketing a powerful header.

Schalke struggled to win with ease at home, with Klaas-Jan Huntelaar showing class as he found the back of the net before half time. Jefferson Farfan equalized on the 67th minute. Giroud and Walcott sought to break the deadlock but the hosts blocked their efforts.
