Giants wield big sticks against rival Swallows

Fields homered and drove in two runs and Shinnosuke Abe went deep twice with three RBIs as the Yomiuri Giants beat the Tokyo Yakult Swallows 6-1 on Tuesday.
Yomiuri rookie Hirokazu Sawamura (8-11) threw one-run ball over 7⅓ solid innings, striking out four and walking one. Kyohei Muranaka (4-5) got tagged for four runs in 4⅔ innings of the loss at Tokyo Dome.
Fields put his team on the scoreboard with a two-run blast with two outs in the second and Abe added a solo drive in the fourth and a two-run shot in his next at-bat in the sixth. Takayuki Terauchi chipped in with a run-scoring double in the fifth.
Hiroyasu Tanaka had an RBI single for the Swallows' sole run in the third inning.
